Greatest NBA big man of all time? Kareem Abdul-Jabbar? Bill Russell? Wilt Chamberlain? Shaquille O’Neal? All four certainly merit consideration, but only two of them posted career numbers of at least 20,000 points, 10,000 rebounds, 2,000 blocked shots and 2,500 assists. Any guesses? They were O’Neal and Abdul-Jabbar. Two other all-time greats did it as well – Hakeem Olajuwon and Tim Duncan. By the way, Artis Gilmore also topped those marks over the course of a career that began in the ABA.

 

Get this: Record-setting NASCAR driver Jimmie Johnson gets car sick when he’s not actually driving. The man who won an unprecedented fourth consecutive Chase for the Cup in 2009 has suffered for his entire life from chronic motion sickness if he’s not behind the wheel. There have been many instances when Johnson was being driven somewhere that he had to ask the driver to pull over so he could throw up. He also gets sick on boats and merry-go-rounds. Go figure. 

 

How would you like to be traded for some cartoons? That’s basically what happened to ABC Monday Night Football announcer Al Michaels. NBC wanted Michaels when Sunday Night Football began, but ABC wouldn’t let him out of his contract without something in return. It just so happened that NBC held the rights to 26 “Oswald the Lucky Rabbit” cartoons made by Walt Disney in 1927. The Disney Co., ABC’s corporate parent, had always wanted the rights back, so Michaels was released from his contract in return for the rights to the cartoons. It was a case of Al for Oswald, straight up.
